I just bought a new laptop, and am not sure why I have a program called “ASUS GIFTBOX” preinstalled, do I need this?, or can I uninstall it?.
Answer:That’s funny because, I just got myself an ASUS laptop, and that was preinstalled too. Well, it seems that all it does is recommends other programs to be installed, that are basically suitable for your computer. Basically, its recommended that you remove it as soon as possible, because the functionality of the laptop will not be affected, and you will see a performance increase on your ASUS computer in the 1%-2% ball bark range. It’s recommended that you use Revo Uninstaller to remove the program, and once you do, use the “Moderate” option for uninstalling it.
It will also ask you to close the “ASUS GIFTBOX” program to remove it, so just go CTRL+ALT+DEL to open Task Manager, find the program down the list, and remove it.
UPDATE: I noticed this article got a lot of attention over the years. Well, even to this day, I recommend uninstalling the program even still, because it’s just full of ads and doesn’t really provide anything useful to anyone. If you want to keep it, go ahead. I added some images to show the new GUI of the program, and, well, it’s not really anything exciting still. If you like this program, leave a comment below on why you like it and why you use it. That would be interesting to see.
It takes a bit longer to remove the program using this uninstaller, but once it’s done, you don’t have to worry about anything, it’s fully removed after this.
