So, you might be wondering which site will actually give me the traffic numbers (at least an estimate) so you can see how popular the site is and maybe even see how much it earns from advertising revenue. Well, SiteWorthTraffic.com is what I use all the time, but sometimes there is not much information available for any given site so it might give you an error. Most big sites though it should be able to give you an estimate. In this example below, you will see I typed in one of my favorite Technology blogs called TechJunkie.com, and they get about 37,000 daily unique pageviews and you will see more information below if you use the site and scroll downwards, but the monthly unique page views for this site is 1,136,040 which is mind boggling.
Then you wonder “well, when did this website start out?”, well… the tool below will tell you exactly when the domain was registered. Check it out. It says in 2005 it started and was updated in 2024. That’s a pretty good ball park estimate. That gives us an estimate of around 19 years this site has been around, just for example. I’ve been using these tools for awhile now and the site I used to use for traffic estimates for websites was TrafficEstimate.com but it got bought out from the looks of it and they no longer offer those free estimates that they used to have, so I used SiteWorthTraffic.com and it works pretty well.
If you have any other free tools that you use for traffic estimates on websites please leave a comment down below with a link, and I will happily share it with everyone in this article. I hope this article helps you in your journey to finding out which niche your looking for or helps you understand how big or small a site is, it is really good to know this information rather than judging a book by its cover by looking at the website and not knowing anything. These tools really put things into perspective for me and should for you too. If you are interested in getting into web development consider these books you can buy on Amazon.ca about just that, (affiliate links, we may earn a commission from what ever you purchase).
