Here’s the mouse I have been using for a few months now, and it’s still going strong. I decided at the time of buying this to try out Steel Series instead of the usual Logitech gaming mouse which basically costed the same as this one. I have owned Logitech before but I remember hairs getting into the scroll wheel and having to clean that stuff out every few weeks, well, I haven’t needed to do anything with this mouse except for some dirt on the bottom of course. I only recently got a mouse pad (which I reviewed here) and that reduced some of the dirt getting onto the mouse. Make sure to also check out the actual mouse itself on Amazon using our links in this sentence, but please be aware that we may earn a commission from what ever you may buy.
Anyways, here are the specifications of this mouse so you don’t have to go to the website to check that info…
- Engineered with high-grade polymer for durability.
- 60 million click mechanical switches.
- Comfortable ergonomic construction (great for intense gaming sessions).
- TrueMove optical gaming sensor (True 1-to-1 tracking 8500 CPI, 300 IPS, 35g acceleration).
- Awesome prism lighting (Newly redesigned lighting which provides 3 zones of 16.5 very crisp colors).
With a price of only $50 CAD, I can definitely say that it’s fully worth getting versus the competition. I’ve seen Steel Series products being made for over 15 years so they really know how to make good gaming products for gamers. Make sure you also have a RGB keyboard to go with this mouse just so that your build looks beautiful, but of course I can’t force you to do that. The keyboard I am using is probably the best looking one I’ve used so far and it’s the “Black Shark Sixgill K2 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard“.
The last thing you’ll want to do before enjoying the mouse and playing games is to make sure you set the pointer speed to the fastest setting, or if that’s too fast for you bring the speed down a notch in this settings window for the Mouse Properties. Also click on the box next to “Enhance pointer precision” to see if that helps, these are currently my settings and it works great for me. After that, maybe turn your office lights off to see how good the lighting is while using your new RGB mouse and keyboard setup. I did this myself and was impressed at how well the LED’s make the RGB work. I imagine there may be a limit on how long they stay lit up but I’m sure it’s probably after a couple years which at that point I’d just buy a replacement and give the old mouse or keyboard to a friend who really needs one.
