So here’s the free phone I got from my mom, she lost it originally and got a new phone, then after she found the old phone (the a52) in her tent trailer, she sent it to me in the mail to use!. Ever since, it has been my secondary phone and I of course have it activated on a cheap plan just incase my other phone dies for some reason. But this phone, has served me well over the past 3 months. The battery charges in only like an hour or less, and I have found another use for it too!. What that you say?, well, it’s actually a security camera as well!. I use an app called Alfred Camera and I can watch my bedroom while I am out and about doing errands. Kinda nice. You can get this phone on Amazon.ca for around $330 CAD right now, using our affiliate link (of course we may earn a commission from what ever you may buy).
I also used this phone to play music, and yes I have a Micro SD card installed, it’s a 1TB, but there’s not much music on there right now. I use my iPhone right now for music. But in my own opinion, the best music app for these Galaxy smartphones is Samsung Music, as it is made for these phones obviously. It’s a basic player but works great for me. I believe the storage that mine has is around 128GB’s, which is pretty good for a mid-range smartphone. The picture quality is, well, pretty good!, check out this video on YT about that. It also has a pretty sleek look to it, 3 cameras, also the good old LED light. All you got to do is swipe from the top to turn the LED light on, no Flashlight app needed!.
Anyways, this phone came out in March 15th 2021, so yeah it’s a few years old, but because it is indeed a 5G phone, I don’t mind it being that old. It sat in a tent trailer for a few months but, that’s totally fine with me, it works great for me. Not bad for a free phone. Of course this phone is USB-C, and doesn’t have a removeable battery, but I am okay with that. I can’t really think of anything I don’t like about this phone though, except for the lack of being an MP3 player, iPhones are obviously better for that purpose. Of course some Android lovers are gonna hate me for saying that. I like to buy my music while on the go, and with the iPhone you can do that. I would say I am both a iPhone and Android lover, I can’t have just one. That’s why I got two phones.
There is another feature I’d like to mention, it’s the double tap on the screen feature that wakes up your phone. This feature was included on the LG smartphones, and now Samsung has implemented it in their phones as a optional feature. I love it. But, the lack of an always-on-screen kind of sucks I would have to admit. I love how my iPhone will show a message on the screen when I actually receive it, that’s nice to have for sure. But I think those limitations on a mid-range phone makes you want to buy the official flagship Samsung Galaxy smartphone, that’s just what I think.
What’s also interesting is that because I have a iPhone 15 Pro Max that is also USB-C, I charge both this Samsung and the iPhone with the same cable. It’s an Anker USB-A to USB-C cable that is about 9 feet long (I think), and it works great for me. Of course I could use a wireless charger with the iPhone and charge the Samsung with the Anker charger but, I like to charge them both with the same cable for some reason. I’m just weird like that. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my review of this mid-range phone and hope you share it on your social media!, cheers!.
