So there they are, the PS5 1st Gen on the left and the PS5 Slim (2nd Gen) on the right. The story on how I was able to take this picture is not too long, but I have some explaining to do, so bear with me. If you want to buy a PS5 Slim in Canada go here and spend your money, most often you can actually get one because they’ve been out for like 3-4 years now lol. So honestly, the first PS5 I bought (the one on the left), I found while unloading a truck and a big retail store (which I don’t work for any more). I noticed the boxes and then opened one and noticed a freaking PS5!, WOW!, I bought one of the 6 or so that came into the stock room, on my lunch break of course :). From there I noticed after a year or so and moving to the big city that I didn’t play very much games, so my long standing Playstation fan (my room mate), bought the PS5 (1st Gen) off of me for around $750 CAD, where I originally spent around $630 for it after my 10% discount.
I took that money, and just spent it all on bills and other stuff like that. In the process of selling this beautiful console, I saved a bunch of clips from the SSD and transferred them all to a USB thumb drive and then made a video out of it. It was grand theft auto 5, funny moments, if you want to see the video please leave a comment down below. I have watched that one video many times. Why?, because the PS5 has an incredible ability to save clips, while your playing which ever game, or even take screen shots. Yeah, you can do that in PC gaming too, but, this was so much easier, and I missed playing GTA 5 for the PS5, since I heard and agreed that the graphics are MUCH better than the PS4 version of this game specifically.
Fast forward to 2024… I just bought a PS5 Slim about 2-3 weeks ago and, well, I still don’t play it that much but, when my room mate wants to play GTA 5, we play and it’s a lot of fun. I actually saved some clips already and have tons of storage left for even more. Well, not enough to make a video again, yet, but, in time, I will make another GTA 5 video with all the funniest moments and you will probably laugh when you see it.
Anyways, I guess this is a lame review on the PS5 1st Gen VS PS5 Slim (2nd Gen), but let me just say, the load times on both consoles are really fast. It is a huge upgrade from the PS4, which yes I used to own one of those as well, I actually owned two of them before the PS5 came out. The Blu-ray player is a great addition to all the latest Playstation consoles, making it fast to copy games to your HDD or SSD so you can play the game without the disc.
I have to say that the PS5 design is a bit ugly but, at the same time I am happier with this than owning a mini-fridge with a little X on it. I can play Halo on my PC without buying the Xbox Series X so, no need to get one and that’s a huge bonus. Sony is obviously Japanese so I believe their games are some of the best out there. I do have respect for the Xbox as I used to own one and Halo is a great game, though because my friends all own Playstation consoles I will probably stick to that side of the consoles.
Anyways, if your thinking of getting a PS5 to play your favorite game, go for it, it’s worth it and you can indeed do a lot with the PS5. GTA 5 will never be the same with the extra nice graphics and also GTA + is also really nice to have and I recommend getting if your a die hard GTA fan. Some other things you should pick up for your PS5 is a USB-C to USB-C cord (10 feet long!!) and also a nice, strong headset which I recommend the HyperX Cloud Alpha which costs just under $100 and has an aluminum frame which is great for prevention of breaking (if you have a huge head like me).
So yeah, I guess my review is a bit strange, but if your a GTA fan you might understand where I’m coming from. P.S. please do not try GTA 5 for the PC in Free Mode online, it is just LOADED with modders!!!. Not worth it.
