If you are like me you probably hate the notch design on the iPhone, knowing that based on previous reports it has been suggested that the notch will not be going away anytime soon apparently (according to rumors of course). Though, it could be potentially much less obnoxious and less in your face according to a new report coming from DigiTimes, who is claiming that the newest iPhone 13 could possibly be getting a smaller notch.
This is apparently due to Apple introducing a completely redesigned Face ID system which will apparently require much less real estate, and as such, could result in the notch being much smaller than usual. This report claims that this is made possible as the various sensors being used will be combined into the same camera module, which makes it similar to the LIDAR scanners design on the rear-facing camera, which thus helps reduce the size of the notch in the process.
Though, right now, we are not sure how much smaller the notch will be, though, hopefully it will be obvious enough to make a difference. This is not really the first time that we’ve heard about this in rumors of a smaller notch for the iPhone 13, and it also doesn’t neccessarily make the rumors true either. It does corroborate previous reports and at the very least it is very consistent.
Theres also more rumors claiming that Apple could finally bring back Touch ID to the iPhone in the form of an in-display sensor. We’ve heard rumors about this for a long time now and this is the year we will finally see it according to more and more rumors coming your way.
