So incase you were wondering if this was possible during a replay, currently it’s only possible to mute someone while your actually in a game (by pressing F11 then hitting Block next to their name). According to this link, the only way to turn off chat while watching a replay is to modify the replay itself. I imagine that you’d have to use a program like MPQ editor, though the game archives are CASC files, so if you know exactly how to do this, please leave a comment down below. The only problem is that some replays contain profanity, since some players get so pissed off while playing the game, so it would be nice to just be able to remove the chat and just watch the game like that.
Like in the replay screenshot above, I literally had to blur out what he said, and delete a part of his name because it was offensive. Owell, I guess we will have to live with it for now. I recommend everyone just hits F11 at the beginning of the game to block the chat. Mainly in games where you don’t know who the other person is like 1v1’s, I mute the person right away using F11, since I’m so used to it now. Almost every 1v1 game that I play has somebody swearing in the text chat. It’s obviously very annoying and thankfully we have that option in the game when actually playing. I’m not totally sure exactly if you mute someone during the game from the beginning if that will remove the text chat from any replay saved after the game. Only one way to find out I guess.
