This, first of all, is a post written with 100% true original images and text. The images below are mine. Nothing photoshopped or anything. Anyways, now that I feel good about myself, lets get into this. This is about buying aftermarket cables on eBaY or Amazon for the iPhone. Do they work?. Well, take a look for yourself. Below I have an iPhone 8 256GB, which I bought for $400 recently off eBaY (almost brand new).
So I took the cable, unwound the wire thingy’s that keep the USB cable wrapped up, and inserted the cable into the iPhone, the USB part went into my computer. The pictures were taken with a Samsung Galaxy S9. Anyways, as soon as I connected the USB cable, the iPhone recognized it, and my iPhone started to sync with my computer, with iTunes telling me theres an update for iOS 14.5. Of course, I’ll go with that and will do the update.
Below, is an image showing my iPhone being recognized by my computer running iTunes (running Windows 10 with the latest updates up until May 3rd, 2021). So anyways, at this point, I feel I have answered everyone’s question on if this will work at all. If you have any more questions leave a comment below.
Oh and I forgot to mention that the iPhone Lightning cable cost me around $5 off eBaY. No affiliate links for that, though here are some cheap cables from Amazon. I think the next test is to see if this cable will work with the iPad and maybe the Beats Powerbeats… that’s something to try out since they have a lightning port installed. I’ll get back to you guys on that in another post.
