This article was written while this exact keyboard (affiliate link, we may earn a commission from what ever you purchase) was plugged in. I literally just got this thing and, I have to say, for the price I absolutely love it. I’ve never heard of the brand but, I’ve also never seen a keyboard with RGB lights all around the base of a keyboard, so cool. In the picture below you’ll see a mouse too but that wasn’t included, the mouse I use is a Steel Series Rival 3 Gaming Mouse which I still have to write a review about.
But both the new keyboard and mouse look great together, as they are both RGB. The keys are some of the most satisfying keys I’ve ever typed on, out of all the RGB keyboards I’ve put my fingers onto. My favorite part of this keyboard is how the RGB goes around the whole base of the keyboard, making it really easy to see in the dark. There are also media controls for iTunes or other music programs, but I think most people use iTunes to be honest. Pause, Next track and Previous track all work perfectly. But, you have to hold down the Fn button to use them.
Above is what the keyboard comes in, a very basic, cardboard box. I can’t complain since all that matters is what’s inside the box. I through this box into my recycling right away pretty much. It was surpising to me that this keyboard came with a manual, but I held onto that just incase I need it for reference. Sometimes different keyboards have customizable keys, but this keyboard seems to just have the media controls and that’s it.
I should also mention that you can adjust the modes for the lighting, which are on the Print Screen and Screen Lock keys if used with the Fn key. This is important, and I remember the Red Dragon RGB keyboard I had did the same thing (I had to throw that keyboard into recycling because I spilled liquid on it). Before I ordered this keyboard, I was honestly looking at some of what HyperX was offering, but I decided to just get this one for the price.
I’ve also owned one of the later Logitech RGB keyboards, and the palm rest was built into the keyboard, so that caused there to be less space on my desk for other things. I really shouldn’t eat at my computer but I kind of have no choice since there is no dinner table in my household. So, I usually put a dry cloth on top of the keyboard, or Kleenex.
Now, the last thing I will mention is the aluminum base of the keyboard. Most keyboards are just plastic, but this one has this build quality, in a keyboard that is valued at around $70 CAD. I believe the only other manufacturer that makes keyboards with aluminum parts is Corsair?, I was one of the first gamers to buy one too. I ended up selling that one to my step dad though, and this keyboard is probably my fifth RGB keyboard so far. But it’s been over 10 years, so what can I say lol. With over 800 ratings that are average 4.9/5, this keyboard gets a 5/5 from me.
