Here it is, the Beats, Powerbeats, review. I still own these headphones, while I think it could be the second generation of these headphones (I could be wrong), but these are the golden standard of jogging headphones. We want quality, and comfort, and those two blended together deliver these, and they’re made by Apple since their acquisition of Beats by Dr Dre in 2014.
As you notice with the most recent generation of these headphones is that they actually have a lightning charging port on them which most iPhones (since the iPhone 5). That makes it easy to charge them using the included USB dongle that you get with it.
For the reasons I bought these, yes, it was mostly because they were made by Apple, but another reason is because they fit over your ear and don’t fall out of your ear like AIr Pods do. Plus, they stay together, there is a wire attached to each speaker, which is super awesome.
The other thing that made me wonder was, why were these headphones on Clearance?, did people just not want to buy them?, for what reason?. But, aside from this, they are for sale on Walmart.ca for $149.94 AND their sold out so there you go folks, they’re popular across Canada.
My first impression while looking at them after unboxing the headphones is that they looked like they would be reliable headphones and would be like running in style but when I actually tried them (with a Samsung Galaxy S9), the audio was skipping, so when I tried with an actual iPhone I noticed the audio was a lot better (yes I own a Samsung Galaxy S9 and an iPhone 8 256GB). So anyways, do I recommend them?, yes. For the price, they do the job, just make sure your smartphone is located not too far away from your headphones, and also make sure there aren’t too many apps running in the background while your playing music on iTunes. This will ensure you enjoy the best music playback possible. I am sure with newer generations of the Powerbeats there will be fixes for the skipping that you hear right now currently when your iPhone is in your cargo shorts pocket like I do.
Overall, I can give these headphones a 4.5 out of 5 for good battery life and compatibility with both smartphone types (iOS and Android). I recommend buying them if your too impatient to wait for better wireless headphones.
