This is a post that I was going to write about eventually just to provide myself with a resource incase I forget down the road. There are ways of achieving this goal without plugins but, I’d just rather use a plugin that still works (yes it still works), and the benefits of having such a thing on your blog is apparently a really good idea and can increase your profits by ten fold according to other users, I haven’t tried it yet as I am still just starting out. Below you will see the plugin page on WordPress.org with it stating that it’s an older plugin and has not been tested with the last 3 major releases of WordPress, but I see this message a lot with older plugins, and I tested the plugin myself, it works fine with the latest version of WordPress, your fine… for now. You can read more on WordPress here and we may earn a commission from what ever you may buy (affiliate link).
After you download the plugin and upload it to WordPress, activate it and then click on the Settings link in the plugins list for Floating Ads Bottom, and you’ll see what you see below, a very simple interface. I don’t know why other developers haven’t made a plugin like this that is up to date, it’s kind of lame, and eventually WP will stop supporting this plugin unless the developer actually updates it. Cmon!, update it bro!, we love it!. Anyways, because I am a new blogger, I didn’t have any ads to run yet on my blog, so I will show you an example of what ads look like on your blog if you got this activated with code, check the next paragraph below and the image below that.
Below, you can see an example of what a floating ad looks like, but it may not be the same plugin being used. But that’s the best example I could find. Basically, it’s a floating box with an ad with the dimensions of 728×90 (I think that’s the most common one used with this plugin) and then there is an X on the box itself that lets you close it if it’s in the way of your scrolling while looking at which ever article. It’s a great plugin and I hope it stays active for when I need it a year from now lol.
