It was today that Apple updated it’s website to promote a monthly payment option for the iPhone XR and iPhone XS trade-ups in the United States.
With the trade in of an older iPhone model at any Apple Store in the United States, customers can get a whole new iPhone XR for as low as $18.99 every month or a new iPhone XS for as low as $29.99 per month for 24 months being as part of a one time only promotion.
As paying in full remains a usable option, with the iPhone XR and iPhone XS starting at $449 and $699 respectively with the trade-in of an iPhone 7 Plus or iPhone 8. The values for trade-ins are up to $100 higher than the usual as part of Apple’s promotion, which does not have an end date in the United States though it ends on February 28th in Asia.
The monthly payment trade-in option is not completely available online. There is zero interest collected and a credit check is required.
Apple has also been heavily promoting the XR and iPhone XSS trade-ins with a banner on the homepage of their website, with store signage, and emails sent to older iPhone users, and more since shortly after the smartphones were released this year.
Earlier this month too, Apple cut the revenue guidance by up to $9 billion for the first quarter of it’s 2019 fiscal year. With a letter written to their shareholders, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, said that the company is going through an accelerating process within the initiatives to improve it’s own results, which includes making it simple to trade in an iPhone at their stores.
