While checking the weather is really one of the features a lot of people use on their smartphones, for years, there have been widgets that are dedicated to just having that on our home screens, with a layout that some may have abandoned only a short time ago. When it actually comes to wearables, you have a couple of options in this area. Many watches come with pre-built faces that include the weather info, where you can build your own in something like Pujie, or you can install a separate application. Those who opt for the latter now have a new entrant to look at. Dark Sky has now come to Wear OS, and it’s a free upgrade for all existing subscribers.
And I’ll be completely honest, when I saw that I have no heard of Dark Sky before on this day, but from both the Play Store listing and the developers own blog, I am actually excited and intrigued by it all. Until this day, Dark Sky was only available on the Apple Watch, though that doesn’t do us much good over here in the Android world. The wait may have been worth it for the long term for us, and rest assured, Dark Sky for Wear OS has the full set of the main app’s capabilities.
With some of those features being current conditions, the 24-hour and 7-day forccasts, with a hyperlocal rain prediction feature, location search by voice or text input, and access to your saved locations, the app also comes with support for Wear OS’s watch face complications. You can be checking for the app update to start rolling out over the next week, or you can simply grab it from the sister site, APK Mirror. And if your also looking for the Wear OS app itself, APK Mirror has that too.
